Fine Artists Lesson

What a fun time we had in Fine Artists this past week! Thank you “Miss Molly” for our Fine Artist Lesson this week! It was so fun! Each child came to the lesson with a box of some sort (crackers, cereal, etc). This lesson created Recycled Art inspired by the artist Miriam Shapiro! The kids imaginatively cut out parts of their box to create a body! Each one came out so different and beautiful!

Take a moment to upload your child’s art to the EBS Fine Artist spot from Molly’s follow up email. Thank you so much Molly for the time and art lesson!

Dental Week & This Week’s Art:

This past week we spent some time discussing dental care, purpose and education. You may have heard some discussion about this topic from your TK’er. We discussed the part of the tooth and why we brush….to get the bacteria and tiny food particles off. In addition we kept a log to track how well we brushed in the morning, at night, drank water and ate a crunchy fruit or veggie each day. Check your child’s log and finish it up today! It’s a self-assessment to help gauge your dental health habits!
For art we made a mouth of teeth and some students made a toothbrush on their own to go with it.

Parent Teacher Conferences Soon!

You will receive an email this weekend to let you know if I am requesting a Parent Teacher Conference or if one is not necessary at this time. If one is requested, you will receive a link to schedule a conference time/day.

Conference Highlights:

  • The week of March 8 – 12
  • Zoom times will be modified on conference days (March 10, 11, 12 only)…see blog next weekend.
  • ALL students will be able to log in to the parent portal to check their child’s report card similar to the fall.
  • ALL students will receive grading sheets in subject areas at the April Distribution Day.
  • Preferable to meet with Parents Only during the 25 minute conference slot.

ST Math Finisher!

Keep at it! We had our first TK student finish ST Math! He will have his name announced in next week’s Friday Announcements to celebrate his hard work!

Asynchronous Work for March 1 – 5

As we have worked a schedule to limit student online time, try to get practice on these platforms for student practice.

  • Math – ST Math or Happy Numbers
  • Independent Reading – RAZ Kids  or Book Bag  or Get Epic
  • Seesaw – Assigned within Seesaw
  • WRITING – Submit one piece of INDEPENDENT writing each week on Seesaw (done with paper and pencil/crayons). Please have your child use the camera feature to submit a picture of their writing. Then have them use the microphone feature to record their writing and submit with the green check.
    • If your child is NOT writing sentences, have them label a picture (with their own spelling or letter label for each item) and submit a photo and recording of it.
    • If your child is writing sentences, they can write a Beginning/Middle/End story about myself OR write a letter to Mrs. Miller asking me and telling me anything they would like. They may include a picture and must submit a photo of the writing and recording of them reading it.

Anonymous Feedback Form

If you have feedback (positive or constructive) or ideas please take a moment to share your thoughts and feedback! I am loving getting to know the kids better and that they are getting to know each other better despite the challenges we don’t typically deal with! Anonymous Feedback Form
