Jog-A-Thon (JAT)

Molly Pincherli and I each sent out emails regarding the upcoming JAT at EBS. Check out this video to give you a quick peek and get excited with your child about what it is and to understand the event a little better. It’s a fun EBS event and one of our biggest fundraisers of the year to help provide our school with all the additional extra enrichment.  https://vimeo.com/394794974

• Date: May 26th: 9:15 am – 10:00 am.
• Registration – If you haven’t registered your child yet, please take time this weekend to do so. This is a way to support the event and the school and will help our class to win a school contest!   https://www.getmovinfundhub.com/eventwebpage/607062133de4b.
• Volunteers – We are able to have 1-3 volunteers support our class, though they must have already been cleared by our school nurse. (The window to clear for this year has already closed so volunteers must already be on the list. Please reach out to me if you are cleared and able/interested) to help that day/time.

Fine Artists Lesson

Beverly Buchanan was our featured artist. This particular art was inspired by ramshackle homes in the southern eastern United States. These homes were pieced together with wood and other found parts to create a roof, walls and a floor that was stilted above the ground. This artist used lots of lines and bright colors to create a home like these. The art began with cut pieces of a triangle and rectangle. The rest of the art/home was drawn with oil pastels…so fun. A special thanks to Mrs. Molly for unwrapping every single oil pastel stick for each child. These were individually wrapped. She took them all home and unwrapped them for the students to make it easier and save time.

STEAM – Human Impact

We have continued our discussions about how we impact the earth. We talked about how the impact could be “helpful or hurtful” and let the kids decide and make a claim about how we felt our impact changed the earth. We will continue to learn about how we can make a change for positive in our impact.

Earth Day

Earth Day was a perfect connection to our STEAM unit. We read a great story about trash and where it goes and what happens to it. We also made some Earth Day art in both our onsite and online classes.

Mother’s Day Zoom

Save the date in your calendars! We will be having the annual TK Mother’s Day on Zoom. There will be a craft, there will be cuddling and lots of love and appreciation for our sweet mamas!! (There will be a materials pick up prior to this event!)
