TK Days: The LAST Week!

In This Week’s Post:  Thank You!, Last Day of TK, Running Accomplishments, ST Math,  Dad Spotlight, Happy Father’s Day, Fourth of July, K Summer Playdates, Upcoming Events, The Week Ahead

Thank You

Sweet 206 Families! Thank you for such a great year! These sweet kiddos will always be a part of my class family! I hope to run in to many of them as they grow older and see their sweet smiles! Thank you for my end of year gift! I love all the pictures and memories we have together!

The Last Day of TK

Our last day was full of fun, yummy pizza, otterpops, The Peter Rabbit Movie (thank you Noah Green) and lots of love! We took these pictures the last day! You can take the two photos (first and last day) and put them side by side to see how much they’ve changed! We are hoping you all have a fantastic summer playing, resting, and enjoying summer!

Running Accomplishments

Check out this guy! I’m not sure if you know the story, but he  still had quite a bit of laps to run in order make it to 200 laps with only a 2 week time frame to accomplish it. He upped his game and on the last day of running club, in the last lap, this sweet boy hit 200! This is perseverance at its best! Fantastic job! This is something to be proud of!  #keepontrying

ST Math

Many students have been finishing their ST Mat at EBS! The last day of school, we had our first student to finish! Check her out! That was a lot of hard work and time put in! If you want to continue your ST Math, you are welcome to log in at home and keep on going until the end of summer. Ms. Sloan has even promised to give certificates for those who finish over summer! Applaud this little lady for her effort and hard work! #mathematician

Dad Spotlight

I just had to give this shout out to our resident dad volunteer! He came to volunteer in our class every other Friday morning (switching off with his wife) to help with whatever was needed! He came the whole year through and always with a smile! Its a rarity to have a dad in our room and believe me I know the reasons why…there is not a lot of flexibility to allow them to do this! This sweet family is also moving away from EBS and we will miss them dearly! Thank you Wilson Chen!

Happy Father’s Day

Take this day to say Happy Father’s Day to any fathers in your life. It may be your own father, your husband, your brother, your uncle or some other person that has been there for you or your child in a necessary way! We applaud these people for their love, acceptance and time!!! Cheers! Give them a hug, maybe a phone call, and/or a thank you for all they’ve done!

Fourth of July

Fourth of July is a big day in Scripps Ranch if you haven’t heard or experienced! There is a race (2 mile Fun Run, 10K, or 50 mile bike ride). This is all followed by a celebration in Hoyt Park! Finally, there is a parade in the center of Old Scripps with floats! Its just a good time and a way to tribute our beautiful country! Each school in Scripps has a float and our school float is lead by no other than our fantastic principal Ms. Sloan (she rocks, doesn’t she…seriously we are so lucky). She is asking for families to join our float/walk and support EBS to show it off as the amazing school it is! If you and/or your family are interested, please contact Ms. Sloan (and or go to the facebook invite:  ) and she’ll give you the details on how to be a part of this fun!

K Summer Playdates

Come and join the fun and meet some new friends that will be in Kindergarten as well this year! You’ll get to meet some new friends before the year starts and maybe even see some old friends from this year! Here’s the dates of when to join!

Pamper Day

TK Days: June 4th – 8th

In This Week’s Post:   3 Days Left!, Father’s Day, Field Trip, EBS End of Year Assembly, Movie & Pizza Day!, Yearbooks, Summer Reading Program, Art, Star of the Week, Upcoming Events, The Week Ahead

We only have 3 days left!! So hard to believe that our year is actually coming to an end! These little sweetie pies will always be my students even when they are someone else’s. I always encourage them to wave hello or show the “I Love You” sign as they pass in their new class lines. Let me say how much I will miss them, but will always love them!

Father’s Day

This past week we had so many adults come in our room to celebrate Father’s Day! Each child had a filled out sheet about their dad along with an art piece of their dad and a special keychain so daddy could take them along wherever they go. The song they sang was posted on Facebook and I have a few photo shots of the game playing! What a day!

Field Trip – SDCDM

Friday we blazed up to Escondido for a fun time at the Discovery Museum. We took a class and learned all about masks. We learned that masks can hide our emotions or express the emotions we want. We spent the rest of the time playing and discovering all the adventurous fun available! Thank you to all our parent chaperones/drivers who assisted us on the trip! Such a fun day!

EBS Assembly

Before we left for our field trip, we began our day with an school-wide assembly. There was an all-girl band, the 5th grade promotion speech along with a quick “floss” dance time! Such a way to kick off summer and say goodbye to a fantastic school year!!

Movie & Pizza Day

Wednesday is our last day. We plan to watch a movie and eat pizza. If your child wishes not to eat pizza you are welcome to send something else for them to eat. Just let us know by Monday so we can order the correct amount.

Yearbooks were delivered on Friday. We will pass them out Monday to the students who ordered one. If you didn’t get a chance to order one, but would like one, they will be selling them on Monday after school. They will be $30 on Monday. The kids are welcome to bring these in their backpacks on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday for friends to sign. Enjoy looking at all the photos! Our class page came out great…special thanks to Norma Esquivel (Katherine’s Mom) for choosing all the photos and completing our page layout!

Summer Reading Program

This week you received a summer reading log. Fill it out this summer and your name will go into a drawing for the Fall Bookfair!

Mrs. Leatherwood and the students made this lovely art entitled, “Wave Goodbye to TK!” How awesome!

8 Days LEFT!!!

Can you believe it! We’ve almost  been through an entire year! These kiddos did awesome! I’m so proud of each of them!

206 Father’s Day Celebration

This week is our Father’s Day celebration in Room 206! We are excited to spend some time with these sweet people who loves us! We know it can be hard to get away. We plan start right after attendance around 8:50 am and will aim to be done by 9:20. We have a little gift for you, a short activity, and a little treat!

Shoe Drive

We are still collecting shoes! If you wanted to part of our last giving opportunity, I have 3 pairs of shoes left that need to be filled. Stop on by and bring a pair for a child! When you shop with your child, take this great opportunity to explain why you are buying the shoes and how fortunate we are to just head to store and buy a new pair when we want to need it. Most of us are fortunate to own many pairs of shoes! #weliveagoodlife  #givetoothers #fillingbuckets

Return All Library Books

ALL Library books are DUE, this Wednesday, June 6th! Please return yours on or before then to avoid being late! A special thanks to Kim Lanz who has consistently joined us all year as a library volunteer (and many other jobs). We appreciate all your help in choosing books for these curious kids and with check-out and getting books off tall shelves!

Summer Reading/Book Bag Return

ALL BOOK BAGS ARE DUE BACK! A large amount of bags were turned back in on Friday! Thank you! If you still have your book bags, please return them on Monday as we are checking off as they come in for a small reward for reading all year and returning the books for future student reading next year!

Field Trip/End of Year Celebration

Our Field Trip is almost here! I will be sending out information to parent drivers/chaperones this week! Due to the following we will plan to arrive at the school at 8:30 to get last minute information and let students use the restroom. This will also let drivers pack in boosters early. We have an all school assembly that day at 8:50. Our plan is leave right after the assembly at 9:30, so here’s the plan:

  • 8:30 – Arrive at the school and come into 206 early (+ attendance)
  • 8:45 – Head up to assembly
  • 9:30 – walk directly to cars (stop by snack area restrooms on our way out)
  • 9:45 – Drive away from EBS
  • 10:10 – Arrive at SDCDM (eat quick snack while teacher checks in class)
  • 10:15 – 10:45 Enjoy SDCDM Class
  • 10:45 Explore the rest of the Museum (break for lunch in between)
  • 11:55 Head out to cars and drive back to EBS

Students will need a separately packed snack in a disposable bag and a lunch in a disposable bag. Gallon sized ziplocs work great for lunch! Thank you all for joining us for this fun day!

Kindergarten Round Up

This Wednesday, we will be having our first Kindergarten Round Up! Dress Western for the occasion! The plan is to have each class rotate through all the other 6 kindergarten classes (as a group) to do a different fun activity for approximately 20 minutes! They will stay together as a 206 class through each rotation. The kids will love this! The additional benefit for our TK class is that they will be able to hang with each Kindergarten teacher and visit each room before next Fall!  #dresswestern

Last Day Movie

On our last day we will be having a Pizza Party in our class and watching a movie! If you have a PG Rated movie that you think the WHOLE class would enjoy, email me or stop by this week with the title or the movie itself! Movies will be sent home on the last day!

This time of year gets crazy! On Tuesday, June 12th we will be taking down much of our room and sending a lot home! If you have an hour to spare, swing by and let me know! We plan to take down much hanging in our room and would love some help to take down, clean out, wipe, label, package to go home before we start our summer! I may have a little prepping for next year as well! Thank you in advance for your time this year to help our students and future students!
